Lately, I Actually, I get my fix/day also, except for the few times that I am sick or out of town. And I have one source of message packets that sends me my fix/day automatically via an email attachment, so that they are waiting for me when I get back on/up. I often lurk, however... I don't jump in unless there is something to say... and sometimes I get behind on READING my message packets (and thus, replying). :) JP> have not lost a .qwk. Using the .ptr would be a fast way of JP> recovering this lost .qwk. Thankfully, I haven't lost any recently either... :) But knowing how to retrieve stuff is a good thing to hold onto... NB> You u/l it directly to the bbs, at Your Settings/Offline/Upload PTR. JP> I have not yet seen this "path". I will go and look for it. JP> Thanks much, Nancy. You are most welcome. :) That works for any Wildcat board. It won't work on Juxta, as that is Maximus. NB> And, you mentioned earlier that you hadn't had experience with the BW NB> door... I'm surprised at that, since your other BBS, Juxtaposition, NB> has the BW door, and I've been using that as one of my backup bbs's. Using BW the JP> way that I did and still do was my way to go. Even on Doc's, I JP> still use the same procedure....works for me ! I do not even know JP> what the door would offer me more. I am sticking with my way. In other words, even though you are using the BW reader, you have always gotten QWK packets? The offline mail options don't really have anything to do with how one gets onto the BBS, though. I would have thought that if you were using the BW reader you would have been getting BW packets, through the BW offline door on the BBS, if that were available... (in other words, it shouldn't have been a PC/C128 thing?) I understand the concept of keeping the "magic spells" as similar as possible... That's my MO, also, for good reason... ttyl neb ... Nothing is so smiple that it can't get screwed up. ___ Blue Wave/QWK v2.20 --- ViaMAIL!/WC v1.60d* Origin: Chowdanet (401-724-4410) telnet://chowdanet.com (1:323/120) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 323/120 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
