JP> Hello Mark, nice talking to you ! How are you doing ? actually, i'm doing pretty well, ATM ;) it has been a while... how are you and yours? back up north, are ya? ML> FWIW: the door is most likely the actual place that you end up in when ML> you choose to gather the new messages and download the qwk packet. JP> Let me say that the twain shall not meet. I do believe that I JP> am not in the door at all, unless as you say, the Sysop is smart JP> enough to mask it. There is the option to use the door but I JP> elected not to. It all looks like it did on the C=128, using JP> QWKRR. But I am easily fooled, as you know. I think that the door JP> would offer me some graphic stuff which I do not see at all here. this is all (some of it even possibly) true... some software has QWK "doors" built into it... i don't remember if WC systems do or not... in know that my RA (RemoteAccess BBS) system does not... this affords me the ability to add whatever one (or more) i desire so as to fit my users' needs and preferences... unfortunately, there are not many available these days nor is my current (beta) version of RA compatible with what is left out there... i believe that i wrote a conversion utility, at one time, for this version so as to have data files that are compatible with an older version of this BBS software but i don't recall and don't remember if i have it in place for the one(s) (ie: some doors) that i do have installed... hummm... i might need to check into that some weekend when i can possibly beg off of going to my GF's place... dunno if i really want to do that, though... i only get to see her/them on the weekend as it is ;) )\/(ark* Origin: (1:3634/12) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 3634/12 106/2000 633/267 |
