Well I guess so BUT what is your configuration for running doors?  Do you 
always exit with an errorlevel and then restart Max?
I use a simpler form of
-!-
        Display_file    misc\doorfile           Normal "BRE"
  NoDsp Xtern_DOS     D:\bbs\doors\bre.bat_%k   Normal "B"
-!-
And it lists the name of the batchfile it is calling(or program) and it also 
tells you all the errorlevel information(at least here, but I have fulloging 
turned on).
