subject: Frustrating Doctors

SB>Yesterday I got to learn some of what other people mean when they talk
SB>of doctors being impossible to deal with when someone is dying.
[snip]
SB>The dying is not the problem here. My friend knows he is dying, and is
SB>ready to pass over to the other side. We know he is dying, and are
SB>ready to sit with him as he passes on. It is only the doctors who
SB>cannot accept his dying. Are they *that* terrified of mortality, that
SB>this one frail old man's death will devastate them?
I *utterly* fail to understand why the medical profession refuses to
admit that there is both 'a time to be born' and 'a time to die'.
Don't get me started, please, Sondra. If I'd had a living will on my
Mother, I'd have sued that hospital for danged near every penny they
had! She was *forty-five* minutes dead when the hospital staff finally
managed to pursuade the heart in her comotose body to start pumping
blood again!
If you've insurance enough to cover it, the medical profession insists
on keeping a body 'alive' long after it's owner is gone. Result:
skyrocketing insurance costs for EVERYBODY. And a *total* loss of
'dignity' for the dying.
Pfffffffffft!!!!!!!!!!
