I'll try to do your U-tape in the next few days. Bird: nope, dunno them.
I just got back from hauling my 2nd daughter to a golf lesson and then to
the Guitar Center. She's a drummer wannabe, and I wanted to get her
something she can learn with while not driving us crazy. It's a big
house, but not big enough where we can't hear that $!@#ing snare through
the ductwork. Got her one of those big pro-quality octagonal practice
pads and a decent stand for it (and 2 sets of sticks).
Me, I didn't see anything with a resonator in the store, so I tried out
one of those "Roadhouse Strats" ($650 list). Thing felt like crap, and I
couldn't even tell you why. Maybe the well-worn maple neck on my '73 plus
old frets just make things less "notchy". But the 335's r/w neck and
nearly-new frets (the thing was near-new when I bought it) feel great,
too. The 335 is getting more use the past few months. After listening to
my Chris Cain disc in the car today, it may get more.
