Actually, CR reviewed water filters in July of this year.
The Ametek countertop model rated 6th out of 8 tested, though their 
under-sink model was rated 2nd of 8 tested in that group and was a best buy.
The only Sears models tested were a faucet-mount type and it was rated 5th 
out of 7 tested, and a reverse-osmosis type that ranked 2nd out of 4 tested.
