This person does not own the CD-ROM writer - he had to pay for the
service, which increased his production costs.
TO> First of all, you can NOT hook up a CD-ROM to aqn Atari 8-bit.
Perhaps not directly, but it can be done when used in conjunction with
SIO2PC cable/software and a PC clone as a "peripheral" or "disk server".

Yes, with SIO2PC you do require a PC. Many of us Atari 8-bit users also
have PCs these days.

If you use the SIO2PC software/hardware, the PC's drives become
accessible via the normal SIO bus. A null modem transfer would not be
required in that case.

Yes, but this presumes that the person also has a CD-ROM recorder, and
did not have to pay for the mastering service.

Perhaps, although it is my understanding that the price reflects the
production costs that this individual incurred.

That would be great, and much appreciated by all.
However, I am a bit confused. In a previous message you expressed a
desire to wash your hands of all Atari products and never deal with
Atari users again. Now you seem to be changing your story. Which is
it?
