In some cases, yes. In some cases, no. For example, in the 60's and early
70's, Heathkit was in a large techie/hobbyist market. Yet that kit-making
market never became a mainstream market.
Additionally, *all* mainstream markets do not necessarily start out in the
techie/hobbyist market.
