My computer is a Pentium 4 1.8ghz box, windows xp sp2 / 1gb ram. I
currently use Winamp 5.5 more often than itunes. Itunes is only used for
updating my ipod that i own only.

Maybe I have too many programs in memory, which makes my system performance
rather batty. Like firefox, instant messengers and stuff.
