No I don't get it, I chose windows but I didn't have to buy it at retail.
Did you count my choice?

I'm not arguing about MS methods, I'm quite aware of the stuff they pulled.

What I was saying is I don't believe there were ever 10 million active
seats of OS/2 at any one time in the past, I think those numbers were as
valid as what's his name's claim that OS/2 was strategic. (John something,
the OS/2 version of Segal)

I will however accept that you believe there were 10 million OS/2 users but
95-97 was the time I was doing most of the tech support and setups for
netlink so I had a lot of exposure to what people were using and I saw lots
more Linux than I did OS/2 and this was prior to Linux showing up on any
radar screens.

But hey, you don't have to believe me, Phil (relaypoint, has he found this
group yet?) was doing support around then as well and he could probably
give you a good estimate of how many OS/2 users he talked to as well. If
you believe 10mil users out of maybe 100mil desktops at that time then even
if half those were big corp we should still have seen 5% penetration in new
customers, we didn't, we didn't even see enough for it to show up on a
percentage chart and in stats on websites I don't think I ever saw it hit
1%.
