Interesting, with the new notebooks, HP is still supporting Windows 2000,
and the notebooks are certified for Linux.   No wonder Microsoft
is so grouchy of late.

SOURCES SAID HP will introduce the 8000 series of performance notebooks in
the third quarter of this year, aimed at the business market.

It's also preparing to introduce some ultra-light models.

The 8000 series includes the 17-inch 3.4Kg 8710w, the 8710p, the and the
15.4-inch 2.8Kg 8510w and the 8510p.

The ultra light models both have 12.1-inch screens with the 2710p weighing
1.7Kg and the 2510p 1.3Kg.

The performance machines come with a range of HP and other software for
notebook management and will be offered supporting Vista, XP and Windows
2000. The machines are also certified for Linux. æ
