MM> SK> There are certain students who do not do well in the ed system as it
MM> SK> is designed. I think that what this then calls for, is a reform for
MM> SK> these students so that they can learn better.
MM>Reform? I think what is boils down to is, why do you believe in
MM>compulsory education and forcing your (or other people's) ideas in
MM>reforming someone?
PS>
PS> How about installing the ability to think? You believe people
PS> come with that ability? I would trade my education for anything in
PS> the world. It's one of the things that protects me from those who wish
PS> to take advantage.
"Installing" the ability to think?? I don't like that word.
MM>You will still have protection from quacks without any certification
MM>system. I explained how this happens. Word-of-mouth, direct observation
MM>of how someone's performance, selection of the fittest.
PS>
PS> What is your neighbor's qualification in judging such
PS> occupations?
HIs qualification is his experience with it or who he's talked to. Everyone
is qualified to make a judgement. YOUR judgement is used to determine
whose pronouncements are worthy and whose aren't.
MM> SK> Do you really think that the drop-out rate is that high? I
nderstand
MM> SK> that for most schools it is below 10%.
MM>What really is the difference between dropping out and ending your
education
MM>with a high school diploma? Is it that much of a difference?
PS>
PS> College, trade school, military, other
PS> possibilities....income..hmmmm
All of these things that you mentioned are merely *more schooling*. Of
course
that's the case. You need to pass through the gradations to get further on.
But what about job-wise or career-wise etc? I haven't seen a difference.
People with only a high school diploma are working teh same jobs as
someone without one.
