The birds tend to head for shelter before a hurricane, too. They're lots
smarter than people!

Nasty!

A little bird told him.

Very nasty.

Nope. I never seen that. Hail, yes, but not crushed ice. Mother's day a
year ago, we went out to eat in Orange Park. It rained to beat the band.
When we were coming up Old Jennings Road (straight-shot four-mile country
road we live at the end of), there was this eerie ground fog in patches,
and this stuff that looked like foam in the ditches and culverts. We
couldn't get a good look at it.

At home, our driveway was covered in this stuff. I soon discovered it
wasn't foam, when I stepped out of the truck and it went CRUNCH underfoot.
It was hail. It was piled up in corners, it was all over the grass, it was
on the roof. Our neighbot said that the height of the storm sounded like
someone was firing a shotgun at his garage door.

And the temperature dropped from the high 80s to the 40s. Next morning, it
was still cool and there was still some of the hail on the ground.

Veloci--here's a nice warm hug--raptor
