Not true.  Less than 20% of the non-government work force is unionized.
Almost *nobody* in the Information Technology field is unionized (one exception
being the computer people at the Union Pacific Railroad, they are really railway
clerks - the employees fought both the union and the railroad in court before they
finally lost that one).
