Klipsch makes speakers that die after a certain date?

This sounds like a lousy practice, but HP's inkjet printers and their
software drivers are still some of the best printers around so what's one
to do?  Buy a lesser quality printer with overpriced ink cartridges?  Buy
HP printer and go with 3rd party brand ink cartridges?  Maybe this chip
stuff is about shutting out 3rd party ink cartridges?

I've got a pefectly good brother laser printer that originally cost $140.
They don't make that model any longer, but a very similar used to be more
expensive model now sells for around $80 on sale.  My printer needs a new
toner cartridge, and they want $85 for a replacement cartridge at the same
store where the newer used to be more expensive model sells for $80
including a toner cartridge??!!!
