Does the gender of the author matter? Are men allowed to critical of
men and women critical of women without reproach?
In any case, all you cited before was a title. I replied with other
titles. None of the cites are on my current reading list. Have you
read any of them? My most recent reading on gender issues was
Farrell's "Why Men Earn More". I'm unlikely to send Amazon
my money for any of these other books.

I don't know about Barry Sheerman's claims. I've read a bit in the
popular press about Summers' statements. The reaction seems a tempest
in a teapot to me. There was nothing offensive in his statements that
I can see. He seemed to be saying that the subject of gender
differences in performance needs more research. I agree with that.
