Michael -

The ICOM relay is rated for 16V {at} 0.5A.

The L-4/7 has about 30V {at} 45 mA so exceeds the ICOM rating.

A simple transistor driver would be a better choice than another 
relay.  There are commercial "buffer" devices offered for not much 
money.  Cheap insurance!   Lots rather replace a transistor in an 
external box than a relay inside the 756!
