WordPerfect Corp.'s ED.EXE will indeed find and replace or remove 00h
"null" characters. I don't even have a hex editor--too little need to
justify one. ED does just fine for my very limited hex editing.
But 00h characters can turn up so often in downloads, and can play
such havoc with my communications setup, that I use a freeware DOS
utility to get rid of them; much faster than running ED. If you're
interested, look for Rob Flor's ALTER.EXE, in ALTER61.*.
