TS> Really? For the price that Gibson is

TS> Well, as long as you're happy with with it,
TS> I can't say anything. :) My favorite is a Mexican

Well I to think they should have some standard but they don't. I love the
ebony fretboard but only 2 of the 7 I have tried have one. All the rest are
rosewood. And the two that have ebony have gold hardware. Now however these 2
guitars are still different as one has the black knobs where as the other one
has the amber colored knobs. Still another studio has the black speed knobs
that are different again. I just worry that they maybe forgot to put in the
gibson pickups and perhaps put in epiphone pickups instead. But hey it is
only a studio.
TS> The Tex Mex Fat Strat? (Wow. Try saying that three times
TS> fast...) Personally, I already have one vintage
TS> sounding guitar, and with the way I have it set
TS> up, I can run the gammut from nice clean and crisp
TS> country twang to nice fat singing leads. (Thanks
TS> Torres Engineering :>) That's my #1, Layla. I also
TS> now have a Tex Mex Tele Special and another Strat
TS> that I've built (currently in the process of
TS> finding time to reattach the neck that I stripped
TS> the screw-holes on) that both are hotter sounding.
TS> The Tele has a 'bucker in the neck and a hot
TS> bridge single coil, and (thanks to Duncan
TS> Markley), the FrankenStrat has a FLS Red in the
TS> bridge and a Texas Special in the neck and is
TS> wired up like a Tele (though I may wire in a middle
TS> PU and put a toggle on it to turn just that one on).
I get the feeling you like fenders a lot. I do like them two but I like
gibsons too. I guess the telecaster is my all time favorite design as I love
the total simplicity of it. Still STrats are good to as I have had a ton of
them. I had one of those tex mex strats too and it was set up perfect and
didn't have a single buzz anywhere on the neck. I do regret trading it but I
like tele's more. PRS's are real nice but I don't want to spend a couple of
month's salary on one.
