I broke out of the stone age last week and sprang $2.99 for an "All
Along the Watchtower" ring tone for the cell phone. But I'm not really
much of portable music person anymore (as opposed to the almost 3 decades
ago Walkman days), so if iPod were to rely on me for success (and Starbucks
for that matter) they'd be dead in the water

I have an itty-bitty Sony AM/FM/TV/Weather radio with regular old
light-weight headphones (as opposed to the ubiquitous ear buds) that I use
on the beach in the summer, but from what I gather the US Government is
going to kill my VHF over the air capability the summer after next, so I
guess I'll have to spring for a portable XM/Sirius satellite radio if I
still want to catch the Sunday morning TV pundits on the beach -- I think
though, that I'll likely pass that up and just do the AM/FM thing instead
