Something he mentioned only once in passing that I'm aware of, but I
haven't studied him the way I've studied Heinlein.

And another BTW, what do you want to bet that weird smirking bastard
had absolutely no accomplishments to speak of?  When I twit-bashing
at the TJC Community Chalkboard, the snivellers there never posted
the least iota of personal information.  This, of course, was to
avoid leaving themselves open the same kind of ridicule they were
heaping on me.

So you called yourself a literary agent without having secured any
credentials before hand.  There is no law you be required to do so. 
Credentials are a help, not a necessity.  As long as you did so from
an honest effort be an agent and not to deliberately defraud people
the lack of accreditation is irrelevant.  As your buddy what
credentials he has to be a husband and father and if says he doesn't
have any then accuse him of being a fraud as well.
