Do grab a copy of Virginia Lanier's DEATH IN BLOODHOUND RED.
About a young woman Jo Beth in south Georgia who breeds
bloodhounds and uses them in tracks. The characterizations
are great; Jo Beth is feisty, strong-willed and so much more
likeable than Cornwell's sour Kay. And the bloodhounds -
the shivers that went down my spine when they started baying.
My daughter read the book after I did; her complaint was
that there seemed to be no plot. (!) Must be a
generation gap.
My local bookstore has Lanier's second copy (HOUSE ON
BLOODHOUND LANE). Gotta run and go pick it up.
