I haven't played that level for awhile, so forgive me if I'm not
correct. I believe the yellow card is inside the condemned
building. To get into it, you must go into the small room directly
across from it. There you will find a row of push buttons. I'm
sorry, but I can't remember the combination for these buttons, but
just keep pushing different combinations until a panel with a switch
in it opens. Throw the switch and the building will be
demolished.

After you get into the cell block area, go into the last cell in
the right hand cell block. You should see a picture of a babe on
the wall. This poster is a hologram that you can walk through.
Just follow your nose from there and keep your eyes open for
cracks in the walls! The door you ask about cannot be opened from
the courtyard side. You will be able to open it from the submarine
side.
(ps) Can someone please post where the secret places can be found on
levels 1 to 3?
Here is a complete list for the shareware version. If you need
the list for the registered version, let me know. I have them for
Episode 2 & about 2/3 of Episode 3 so far.
COMPLETE LIST OF SECRET PLACES FOR DUKE NUKEM 3D
The following is a complete list of all the "Secret Places" in the
Shareware version of "DUKE NUKEM 3D". It consists of all the "Secret
Places". If you do not want to know where the "Secret Places" are,
please do not read the rest of this message!!
Level 1 "Hollywood Holocaust". Difficulty Level 2. (8 Secret Places)
1.) Look to right at level beginning to find a large crate.
Jump up on top of crate and then jump up to sloping ledge.
From there, jump up to ledge below the "INNOCENT?" sign where
you will find an RPG gun.
2.) Jump back down to sloping ledge and move forward to one
of the windows on the left above the ledge. Jump through the window.
3.) Behind the poster of the babe in this room, you will find
steroids.
4.) Jump over the counter in the lobby. Press the cash register
and a cove will open high on the wall to your right by the poster
of the babe. Go stand under the cove and push the wall. An
elevator will take you up to the cove for some armor.
5.) Go through the door to the right of the bathroom and up the
stairs. To your right in the projection room, you will see a fire
extinguisher. Push on the wall to the left of the extinguisher.
Inside is ammo, a cocooned woman & a viewer. Also you will find an
entrance to an air vent that can take you to the bathroom.
6.) Back in the projection room, jump on top of the projector for
healing. This will open a door in the wall where you find RPG ammo.
7.) There are two ways to get to this secret area. While you in
the projection booth, hit the switch to open the curtains and start
the projector. You will see the screen is cracked. You can blast a
hole the screen from here with an RPG and go downstairs and go
through the screen. Behind the screen are a Jetpack & ammo. Or you
can either jump down or jetpack from the walkway over to the
Auto Destruct button, to a ledge and then through the window on the
left of the walkway. Either will take you behind the screen.
8.) Jetpack up to the window right behind the "M" in the movie
marque. Go through the window where you will find Pipe Bombs,
RPG gun, Shotgun & Chaingun.
Level 2 "Red Light District". Difficulty Level 2. (8 Secret Places)
1.) Enter bookstore and go behind the counter. Jump up on top
of the shelf behind the view screen. Push the wall in the corner
while facing the shorter wall. Inside is a Holoduke.
2.) Behind the big door in the bookstore (opened by pushing the
first & third buttons), go down the hallway until just before you
get to the elevator. Turn right and continue until you reach the
lighted area. There is a Pig Cop and healing in there.
3.) Go back into bookstore and turn right. The fourth bookshelf
on that side wall will open if pushed. Inside are Pipe Bombs &
armor.
4.) After destroying the building and getting the yellow access
card, go into the bathroom by the pool room. Open wall behind the
toilet in the little cove. Go all the way down into the sewer for
the secret area.
5.) In the nightclub with the dancers, turn to the left inside the
door. Jump up on the bench you will see on the far wall. This will
open a door behind the dancers on the other side of the club. Use
the shift key to run like hell and jump on the stage to get in the
secret area before the door closes. Ammo in here.
6.) On the same side of the club as the above stage, you will see
an air vent up on the wall above one of the tables. Shoot it out &
jump from the table into the vent. There are healing & Pipe Bombs
in the vent on the way behind the curtain.
7.) When you get behind the curtain, go all the way to end of the
stage. There is a ledge to the right and above the switch that opens
the curtain. On the ledge are Night Vision Goggles.
8.) Jump over to, or Jetpack up to the platform behind the curtain.
Go around the corner and you will see a light colored area on the
wall to your left. Push the wall here and inside you will find a
Med. Kit.
Level 3 "Death ROW". Difficulty Level 2. (10 Secret Places)
1.) Go into the control room to the right of the electric chair.
Push the LEFT switch first to lower the electric chair. Jump down
behind the chair to find a Shotgun and ammo.
2.) In the chapel, push the gray colored square with the picture
of the BOSS on it. Shoot out the two stained glass windows. Behind
the left window you will find the DOOM Marine and a Chaingun.
3.) As you are leaving the chapel, stand facing the altar, with your
back to the wall between the exits. Shoot the button above the altar
and a elevator will lift you up to a loft, where you will find
healing. Shoot the Monk that is hanging from the rafters in front of
you for more healing.
4.) At the end of the hallway outside the chapel, is a cell. Inside
the cell, push on the bed. In the hole behind the bed is RPG ammo.
5.) In the area defended by the lasers, there is a big door to the
submarine. This is the door that can't be opened from this side. On
either side of this door are towers that have sloped fronts to them.
Jump up on the slopes, and then up to the cliffs on the sides of
the towers. Then jump up on the sloped area on the side of the
tower. Push the wall, and a tunnel to the other side of the tower
will open. Inside is three healing atoms.
6.) Still up on the cliff. When you get to the left side of the
door to the sub, go all the way to end of the cliff. Look at the
out side wall of Cell Block 1, and you will see a crack. Blast it
with an RPG and jump from the cliff into the hole. If you then use
a Pipe Bomb to then blast the wall in the hole, you will be in Cell
Block 1. There is a bottle of steroids in the hole.
7 & 8.) Inside the round, rotatable room with the ugly hologram.
Push the switch inside this room to make it rotate. This exposes
the doors to the switches that turn off the force fields guarding
the cell blocks. It also exposes a big door and an air vent on the
wall opposite it. Have a Pipe Bomb ready and open the big door.
Use the Pipe Bomb to blast the lasers guarding the door after it's
opened. You will see two open doors, one on either side of the door
to the big map. Jump or Jetpack into these coves. The left one has
Pipe Bombs and the right one has healing.
9.) On the submarine side of the big door to the sub, you will see
two towers similar to the ones on the other side. As you face the
door on the sub side, jump up on the sloped area on the right tower.
Push the wall and inside you will find Night Vision Goggles.
10.) Inside the sub, push the middle of the back wall. Inside is
the sub's engine and a Med. Kit.
Level 4 "Toxic Dump". Difficulty Level 2. (14 Secret Places)
1.) In the underwater cave to your right as you exit the sub, go
all the way to the dead end. (Past where you have to blast the
cracked wall). When you surface, you will be in a cave with a
cocooned woman and some barrels. Blast the barrels and the cracked
wall behind them, and you will exit alongside the bunker.
2.) Jump on top of the sub where it's burning. The switch is on the
right side of the fire as you facing the bunker. You must get VERY
close to the fire before you will hear the sound of the switch being
tripped. This opens an area inside the sub, at the surface, with a
Med. Kit, healing & armor.
3.) Go up the ramp to where the Blue access card is. Look to your
right as you are facing the water. You will see a cave there. Jump
over to it, and push the left wall, all the way in the back of the
cave. You will find RPG ammo in there.
4.) In the hallway behind the bunker, push the wall on the bunker
side. There is a door to the bunker there. In the bunker is a
Chaingun.
5.) After you are picked up by the claws and dropped on the conveyer
belt, follow the belt to the toxic pit. Jump into the pit and push
the left end wall. There is ammo in here.
6.) Get back on the belt and go to the control room. Hit the switch
box on the back wall to the left of the left, tall toxic waste vat.
This switch looks more like a junction box than a switch! Jump inside
the left vat, and then jump up onto a ledge on it's left side. You
will healing there.
7.) Once you get to under water control rooms, push the switch to
raise the water level. Surface and go into the cave in front of you.
Climb up to the top of the sloping rock ramp. You will see a cave to
your right. Jump over to it, and go into the dark area you will find
at the back right side. On the back right side of this dark area,
turn on your Night Vision Goggles and you will see a Med. Kit and a
Shotgun. Jump up on ledge to get them. This is the secret area.
8.) Jump back to the sloping rock you jumped from to get to the
cave. Now jump over to the ledge that is straight across the water
from you. Go into the control room and push the wall just to the
left of red tower. There is Scuba Gear & ammo in here. While you
are in the control room, don't forget to push the switch of the
control panel that opens the big door under the water!!
9, 10 & 11) Just outside the control room, you will see a crack
in the wall to your right. Keep blasting the cracks you find and
you will wind up back at the bunker. There is healing in these
three secret areas.
12.) After running through the gears, follow the stream. Watch
the RIGHT side wall for the tell-tale crack. Blast it with the
RPG and jump into the hole. You have to be quick, because once
you are past it, you can't get back. Good idea to save game before
going down stream!! Take the transporter to the secret area.
13.) After you ride the moving tower across the lagoon, you will
see a vent fan across the toxic stream. Shoot it out, and either
use the ledge to it's right to jump into it, or Jetpack into it.
There are Boots & healing inside.
14.) When you leave the last platform on the toxic river, and
enter the fast flowing area, count the light areas that you go
by in the tunnel. The wall is cracked in the third light area.
Blast it with an RPG, and jump into the hole. You will find the
transporter to the Secret Level 6 in here.
Level 5 "The Abyss". Difficulty Level 2. (6 Secret Places)
1.) After the San Andeas Fault earthquake, "Go With The Flow"
and head downstream. When you reach the end of the river, go into
the cave on the left side. Follow the path up until you reach the
top where you find a cove that has a box of Pipe Bombs in it. Push
the wall just to the left of the entrance to this cove. You will find
a bottle of steroids in there.
2.) Just past the above cove, there is a pit that has a big fire in
the middle, and two hand prints on the walls. Jump into the fire
hich
will transport you into the room you were able to see after you
crossed the old, rickety bridge. The secret area is up on the ledge
where the RPG ammo is.
3.) In this same room, there is a ledge with healing atoms on it.
Jumping onto this ledge will cause one or more bad guys to teleport
in. To transport back to the first fire, jump back into the fire!
4.) After climbing up along the lava falls, shoot or pipe bomb the
crack in the wall there. This opens a long passage with a variety of
ammo on the ground. The "Secret Place" is at the far end of the
passage, just before you come out by the keyed gate where you
arted.
5.) Across the lava river, at the top of the falls, you will see a
hand print switch. Press this switch to open a passageway to your
left.
Jump into this passage, and follow the lava river until you find an
opening on the left. Follow the opening to a cave with a dancing
maiden
and three healing atoms in it. Picking up the atom behind the fire is
the "Secret Place".
6.) Just to the right of the entrance to the big space ship, where
the wall makes it's first angle, push the wall. Follow the path up
to the secret area with healing, that you could see from the window
in the rock wall earlier.
Level 6 "Launch Facility". Difficulty Level 2. (4 Secret Places)
1.) When you reach the second toxic pool, dive beneath the surface.
Follow the tunnel to the end, then surface. You will find ammo and
healing. For some reason, you can dive beneath the toxic waste and
not be injured, but when you are on the surface, it hurts. I must
acknowledge "Crazy J" for this one. I would not have found it in a
hundred years if it hadn't have been for his help! Thanks!!
2.) Follow the ramp up from the second large room you come to.
The one with the healing atom on top of the brick column in it.
At the top of the ramp, right at the light switch, look up and you
will see a vent fan. Shoot out the fan, and Jetpack into the vent.
Inside you will find healing, I think.
3.) In the control room with all the Pig Cops, just before the
rocket, face the console with the view screen. Push the wall where
it angles, to the right of the console. Inside is armor.
4.) After the rocket is destroyed, go down to the lower level. Jump
up onto the console in the control room, and push the panel. Inside
is healing.
