I do my daily work on D2006, and with all the updates and hotfixes it's
*almost* acceptable - but not quite. It's a painful experience to say the
least. Every few months or so it will start to fall apart, requiring a full
re-install (well I develop on a virtual machine so that takes about two
minutes). There are also a zillion great new features that would really
help my daily work - but none of them seem to work. Error insight is
totally screwed up, the ITE is just plain broken, refactorings crash the
system about half the time making the completely useless...
I would be seriously considering an alternative tool if I were to start a
new major project now, even though I very much like the Pascal language and
the Delphi way of doing things.

I remain a wee bit sceptic, though: they still keep doing things the
"Borland way", like saying "next week we'll announce the
sale" for like seven months, and now it's been what, a month or so,
and there isn't a single line of information on their website about, well,
anything at alll...
But oh how I'd enjoy if I was proven wrong and they suddenly came up with a
good product that is what the early Borland era products were, fast, lean,
and simply works.
