Remember, all this stuff is advanced by the label, and recouped from future
sales, at the royalty rate. Very expensive loans.
If the royalty rate is 10%, then for each dollar in sales, 10% goes against
the recoupable balance.
If production costs are 100,000, then it takes 1,000,000 of sales to recoup that.
Wise artists are now paying their own production costs, to significantly
lower the recoupable balances.
