True to a point.

A following at venues does NOT necessarily translate into sales of CD's.

A 50-100,000 fan base is NOT huge.

There are plenty of artists signed with far smaller following based on what
someone thinks their potential might be. If we waited for every
group/singer to be a success prior to releasing a CD on them, there would
be nothing out.

I've heard many an act have a CD finished that's excellent music, be pushed
in marketing to get it known/heard/available, and go nowhere.
