You made a good point before, that it may likely be used as a way to
introduce a bot rather than simply as a way to deactivate a system.

As for disinfecting the "WGA Trojan", I imagine there are folks
working on that right now. The hard part is to keep the ability to obtain
the updates etc from Microsoft that WGA enables. Either it'll be spoofed,
or the updates themselves will become available by "other
channels".
