Can you suggest a some better hashing algorithms? I have also been using CRCs but in one of my programs it takes up 1024 bytes for the table alone. This may not seem significant, but it is when you consider that the entire executable is 2,223 bytes in size. :-) Since it's a linker, speed is also important, and I'm sure there are much faster algorithms than CRC. Do you have any source? What about the hashing algorithm described in Squish's API, would you consider that a "good" hashing algorithm? ---* Origin: Jelly-Bean software development.
