That does, actually, make considerable sense.  I remember when Mobil used
to "sponsor" Masterpiece Theatre.

OTOH, of course, if you keep your name in front of the public then you keep
reminding them about what you're doing.  If you deal with end-users (and
not in a b-to-b environment) then reminding the public about your good
works is a good idea.  But if you're in a b2b situation (as I see ADM) then
you probably want to keep as low a profile as possible (just like
Blackwater).
