i think it is also a terminology problem in some respects... points should
refer to their uplink as their BOSS node since that's the term used for them
for clarity between them and other types of uplinks... points should only
contact their BOSS node for mail and files distributed via FDN... the only time
a point might connect to another system is if they are FREQing a file from that
other system...

FTN has some terminology and practises that take some time to learn to use
properly ;)
