  I've been in contact with one major Star Trek convention promoter, and he 
feels that he cannot produce a show in the Dallas area without losing money. 
Seems that the least expensive hotels in the area (near the DFW airport) 
still charge waay too much $$ for the rooms necessary to have a decent 
convention, and pay the guest, and still be under $20 per person per day 
admittance.
 
  This is not to say that there might be other conventions in the DFW area, 
but this is the feeling of one of the promoters that does conventions in the 
southeast and Florida. :-(
 
  However, this same promoter informed me that he is seriously considering 
doing something in the San Antonio area early next year. :-) I know that San 
Antonio is not close to Dallas, but it's better than nothing! Stay tuned!
