Hi Nancy!
 Happy holidays to you!
-> That is something that James Farrow and I have discussed doing with
-> ENVIRON. He didn't say how he was planning on accomplishing it
-> though!
If I had access to some of the Fidonet opersational echos it would be
good topic to talk about there. I know that a number of BBSs are getting
their packets through the Internet now, as well as the Planet Connect
setup, and figured that perhaps somewhere there is archives of the echos
and a way to get the echos from the Internet.
Supposedly, this net gets it's packets directly from the Southern Star
via Internet, but there are a couple of systems between the AUDIO home
system and that link which seem to take turns having problems making it
very difficult to keep track of things around here until they are well
out of hand.
While I intend to keep the echo going as a part of Fidonet, as a hedge
against obsolesence, some kind of an Internet presence is necessary,
right now a mailing list and website/page are two of the ideas, as most
everyone agrees that going the way of a newsgroup is an anarchy
situation, difficult to keep any kind of focus of topic on with all of
the spamming and off-topic messages found in most of them. So, a
newsgroup probably isn't an option that will be seriously considered.
Please keep me informed on what ENVIRON is looking at for options, and
great seeing you in here as well as PRO_AUDIO.
