Agreed.  I like to keep up 70 when the car's up to it.  In earlier days I
pulled 75 or 80 and paid for it in the gas.

But even then,  I give other folks some space.


Our last road trip, Sandi and I used my vacation pay to rent a Pontiac on
some description, a two door  with nice road manners and good speed.  I got
in it and 75 mph was easy.

When I finally fell over late the first night (I had already worked a full
day) Sandi got behind the wheel.  Thje officer caught us doing 85, but
knocked it down to 83 so we could pay him on the spot and drive away.
Montanna is nice that way.  Speeding tickets below a certain amount are 20$
cash at night. 5$ during daylight.

this time I am lobbying for a new Beetle.  I don't imagine I'll get the
chance to drive one of those again any time soon.
