I think you underestimate who spends money on computers. People start
buying computers to do multimedia and end up being told they can't record
this or something plays like crap they'll return the system as defective
and look for something that will do what they want.
Either that or computers won't be used for multimedia, and people will go
buy dedicated linux based devices. Either way if it's unusable people won't
pay for it.
