Those are some really odd numbers, and I never would've expected 4gb =more= free space to cure it. Sounds like an unsigned int stored in a signed int variable or a 32-bit return interpreted as a 16-bit (maxp.exe) value. Could be a code bug or a Watcom bug. I have a DOS search-n-replace util (ALTER.EXE) that displays a count while it works and it ping-pongs between positive and negative while it works against a lot of hits. :) Would be interesting to see if freeing more 2gb at a time causes more ranges from +/-. Unfortunately, my OS/2 box isn't beefy enough to conduct that experiment. :) .\\ike --- GoldED 2.50+* Origin: -=( The TechnoDrome )=- Austin,TX 512-327-8598 33.6k (1:382/61) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 382/61 140/1 106/2000 633/267 |
