I haven't use Textpad for a few years. I now use Notepad++ which was
better than Textpad, allows EOL conversion and runs on Ubuntu (called
Notepadqq). I think it also runs under Raspbian but I haven't tested.

Most of the time I use git for sharing files between windows and linux,
it does EOL conversion automatically.
