   The sequencing they refer to is more suited to higher level
database-driven and interconnected systems like a general purpose computer. But
some PLC architectures are migrating into a merged solution where the control
functions run on a realtime bulletproof core or plugin card, while the rest of
the PC runs windows.  MTBF is perhaps not up to critical 24X7X365 yet, but fits
nicely in many industrial applications.
