From: "Frank Haber" Yes, it does vary with the font. Some just don't react well, or may have pre-compensated screen versions which ClearType just thickens up ludicrously. And I don't think it helps Type 1 PostScript fonts, if you still use those, just TT (?and OpenType?). It's already affecting Web design. The _New York Times_ recently went to MS Georgia, and it's nice, until you try to read the NYT on a Win2k flatscreen that can't use ClearType, and things go all spindly. Vista is supposed to help this stuff a bit, in addition to forcing developers to get the system text, ALL OF IT, in the little boxes, dammit, for those who use large fonts. Maybe that'll be partial compensation for the loss of our birthright and the enslavement of our firstborn, etc. (g) --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
