I am guessing that;

  printf "Crc %X\n" $(cksum filename | cut -f1 -d' ')

comes the closest to what the doctor ordered as long as the cksum agrees with
whatever you are sharing files with given the TIC way of doing things.  Like
mark pointed out it might not.
