CZ> have a Zoom 14.4 modem that is about Two years old. Can anyone tell
CZ> me where I can obtain the Rockwell chip set windows driver?
If it's an RPI modem then for Win'95 you need
95RPI115.ZIP [08]
+Win'95 drivers for RPI, RPI+,
+for V34-RPIn and V32bis capable
+Rockwell-based modems. Covers:
+PCMCIA, VoiceView, Pocket and
+PnP. Full Cellular support too.
+Uploaded by Simon Slater
or
WIN95RPI.EXE [02] Win'95 drivers for RPI, RPI+, for V34-RPIn and
V32bis capable Rockwell-based modems.
Covers: PCMCIA, VoiceView, Pocket & PnP.
Full Cellular support too. Win95rpi.Exe is
Zoom Telephonics' own approved version of
Rockwell's 95rpi115.exe
For Win3.1, 3.11, and WfWg3.11 you need either
RPIKIT4.EXE [09] Updated WinRPI Setup Utility lets you install or
disinstall Rockwell's Windows (not Win'95)
communications drivers for modems with RPI and
RPI+ chipsets. Provides MNP, V.42, and V.42bis
capabilities resulting in greater throughputs
WINRPI.EXE [13]
+Zoom RPI driver for all RPI
+ comms progs when run under
+ Windows 3, 3.1, Win4WG, 3.11
+-=Free from Zoom Telephonics!=-
+for RPI and RPI+ modems. Incl:
+Windows Modem Driver Setup util
+via PackLink/Zoom Modem Support
WRPI_226.ZIP [04]
+WinRPI Ver 2.26 is a
+Windows comm driver shell which
+allows comm applications to run
+the ATi/ATF modems, which have
+the RPI or the RPI+ firmware,
+as error correction modems
+(similar to that of ACi/ACF
+modem) without modifications
+to the applications.
+Contains Vbrun300.dll
CZ> I have d'loaded the one at Zoom but it didn't work with this modem. I
CZ> believe it is for the 28.8.
Which platform do you use? To check you've got an RPI or RPI+, go into
terminal mode and type AT+H0. If you get an OK then it's RPI. If you
get ERROR then it's not. There's different values of +Hn whether you've
got an RPI or RPI+ Also some very early RPI modems were MNP4 or MNP5
only, no LAP-M error correction, no V42bis data compression. What is the
reply to ATI3 also in terminal mode?
More info in:
RPI-FAQ.ZIP [12] Latest help sheet for RPI, RPI+, and combo RPI/RPI+
with hardware compression/error correction
RPIPROGS.ZIP [22] Listing of terminal programs supporting RPI and/or
software MNPn for "PC" or RPI modems. Includes
example init strings. Updated as info appears reported...
