Hi Ian
IM> different story. Water kills radios. Maybe target
IM> shooting is more my bag.
Gee, I thought you'd like the frustration venting aspect of blowing someone's
ship out of the water. By the way, the Warship FAQ I got of the Internet
said that the fresh water the captains wargame in does not cause permanent
damage to the radios. Granted, they have to be dried out and flushed a bit,
but many guys repair their ships, patch the hulls and fight again the same
day.
IM> Where did you do the flying. I take it that Larry is

We flew at Larry's club field in Pembroke. Larry is still in Petawawa, but
is faced with a possible relocation to Quebec City. Of course this referendum
thing is driving him crazy.
Our Lazy Bee's came directly from the designer, Clancy Aviation. Larry built
the 40" wing plane, as well as the float kit, I built the 48" wing version.
Both are electric and fly like crazy.
IM> At least you got it up before landing. my dismal record still stands :-(
IM> Six attempts and six majors and 0.00 seconds oof air time.
Well, I've only had about 15 minutes of stick time in the air, but the Lazy
Bee is such a nice, slow flying machine that I am able to handle it, but I
*do* have a lot of time under my belt flying the Dave Brown Flight Simulator.
If you don't have one, then you *REALLY SHOULD* get one. You'd enjoy it a
lot, and would eventually end up actually flying.
I'm going to build a set of floats and fly this winter. Should be
lots of nice white runways around in a few months! ;-)
IM> This was in an ad for the Lazy Bee, a bipe, and I was
IM> hooked. Said you could walk with it as it landed.
IM> Larry and Rich Lockyer talked me out of it. just as
IM> well I haven't finished any of the starts for the last
A Lazy Bee Bipe?????? Never heard of it. Are you sure you're not thinking of
something else? I think that Larry would talk differently now, after having
built and flown his. It's good enough for COX to license it and promote it
as their trainer of choice.
IM> So he got to fly there at last or have I skipped a year of life:-)
Yup, Larry just got back a couple of weeks ago. Said he had a great time.
Model Airplane news may be interested in having him do some writing for them,
which would be neat. He's not sure if the timing is good right now though.
IM> I gotta get over there sometime so don't chuck that
IM> circuit. Hell we can have a beer when we're eighty.
It's safe in my workshop, a little dusty though! ;-)
IM> I'm still trying to get this linex installed so that I
IM> can have multi window access to the net and other
IM> things.
Oh...Linux.....yup, I was tempted, but thought better of the time I'd end up
`investing' in it. As I grow older, I am cutting back on my elective
projects, and trying to finish the `must do's'.
Take Care,
Joe
