The very FIRST thing you should do is check for any deed restrictions on
the property. In fact, you should have done that before you signed the
contract. If there are none (look at the "covenants") against towers and
such then check the local City codes office for the same thing. You may
also have to get a building permit.
The worst thing that can happen to you is to get your tower up, then
find that it is illegal in some way. I did all my "homework" and *was*
legal but that did not stop my neighbors from bringing a lawsuit against
me over my tower. This was before I put it up. Four years (and
*thousands* of dollars) later following a final hearing at the Oklahoma
Supreme Court level I did get to put it up.
In no event let your neighbors know you are even THINKING of putting up
a tower. That was *my* mistake. When you are legal in all respects get
it up FAST. Over a week end is best since they can't get injunctive
relief until Monday. If it is already up, they *might* think they are
too late.
All your ideas are good, including the ground radials under the tower.
More advice will follow after you tell us you are OK with the law.
... Alex, I'll take "Things Only I Know" for $1000.
