Glenn's right; Redbook is a different animal, a different filesystem,
actually not a filesystem -- Audio CD is tied to the hardware, and tuned to
error-conceal, rather than error-correct.  You want Audio CD.  We love
AudioCD.  Other tricks usually only play on CD players marked
"MP3" (and on recent car units, as you've found).

Have you tried "finalizing" the burn?  It's usually an option for
data burns only. An audio burn should do that, but....

I haven't heard of any problems with Mac-created Audio CD burns (for twelve
years or so, anyway), but I've always used Toast on Mac, so I have zero
iTunes burning experience.
