| subject: | Study: Women more prone to violence than previously thought |
An article with the title in the subject line appeared in the Sunday paper yesterday. The subtitle was "Research shows women 18 to 26 four times as likely to be aggressive". You can read the article at: http://www.katu.com/stories/74517.html Perhaps this study, and the article about it, will help to dispel a few myths about violence and gender. I also found it encouraging that the article, while not showing women in a particularly good light, did make it into the popular press. Some on this newsgroup had hypothesized that such studies were too 'non-PC' to get done, or if done would not have their result reported in the popular press. The extent to which this study gets any press outside Oregon (it was done in Eugene Oregon) will be interesting. The article I read had an AP byline, so I suppose the results are KNOWN nationally. Let's see if they get REPORTED nationally.
