| subject: | Re: Slow mouse in XP |
From: Gary Britt I am used to using a mouse set so fast that most people find it unusable. So the slow down in mouse acceleration in XP was quite apparent to me. Its a slow down that is built-in to how the XP drivers compute and use mouse acceleration (not talking about a slow down due to interrupts being busy with other things that's different). I suspect the slow keyboard repeat rate in XP compared to Win2K is also a driver setting. I set the Keyboard repeat rate to its max in XP and its still not quite fast enough. In Win2K the same keyboard on slower motherboard and I set the keyboard repeat rate to less than maximum and that setting is faster than XP's max setting.
