What were these promises? Only one with regard to the desktop, that I

No argument here on DPI's performance. Some people aren't aware that
it was DPI that dropped Geoworks, not the other way around. Most
people aren't aware that Geoworks, was in fact quite prepared to "wash
their hands" of the desktop. They had already done it once before by
giving it to DPI. What does "no promise of any major upgrade to
Ensemble" mean to you? Doesn't sound like a company interested in the
desktop to me.

Where/when was this commitment made?
I wish NuCo the best with NewDeal Office. I think they have a gigantic
task ahead of them.

It's been a while since I looked at SLMR, but doesn't it have twit
filter capability? (better use it quick, Sam is x-posting Helmar's
work here!) This QWK reader has a twit filter, the Usenet reader I use
has a kill file. I have never used the feature in either one. 
I have heard people call Usenet "Anarchy". I kind of like it.
