Hello WAYNE!

24 Jan 07 18:53, you wrote to me:

The Purple Heart is awarded to members of the armed forces of the U.S. who
are wounded by an instrument of war in the hands of the enemy and
posthumously to the next of kin in the name of those who are killed in
action or die of wounds received in action. It is specifically a combat
decoration.

WC> Check it out or whatever you do with factual information.

I did.

All military decorations can be awarded posthumously, medals, citations and
even increasing rank.

But your inference that it only signifies death is in error.

Here is proof:

Another War the US fought in, that like Iraq had questionable beginnings
based on alleged lies and what has turned out to be either faulty or
manipulated intelligence, was Vietnam.

Your bestest of bestest Presidential candidate of the 2004 campaign, the
esteemed Massachusetts Senator John Fitzgerald Kerry, served in that
conflict and if I am not mistaken he has at least one or more purple hearts
(until he through them away over some fence), and he is still alive.

Now of course you can provide proof that he is deceased, maybe by a stroke
or some such?
