 .NET is a very compelling platform in itself - extremely productive.  All
those things you used to have to roll yourself or cobble together about a
dozen open source widgets are now directly available in the library.

   The C# language is really Java V2 - designed with the luxury of getting
around some of the difficulties of Java.

   The .NET apps usually run like a bloated Barney, but the programming
productivity gain and quality improvement is enough for many people to turn
a blind eye to the performance.
