Been there, done that too. Then there are the stations that first went to
CD's, who changed the crystals in their CD players to get them to play
faster than at 44.1 khz. Then, the Pro CD players came out, with VSO built
in. My Sony Pro CD player at the studio (about a 9,000 player), has VSO
(Vari-Speed) built in, as well as a sample rate converter so that the
output sample rate stays at 44.1 khz on the digital output jack.
