DA>-> training/testing DA> hoops for a CCW permit for the purpose of making
DA>-> them accurate and/or DA> effective is a moot point.
DA>-> What requirements would you suggest are appropriate in order for a
DA>-> person to obtain a permit? (If you believe a permit should be
DA>-> required)
DA>If this were a perfect world, I don't believe a permit should be
DA>required. But, until we can remove all infringements to the 2nd
DA>amendment, we'll have to live with permits. Of all the permit
DA>requirements in the various states, Indiana's seems to be reasonable.
DA>You pay about $35, you go through a short background check, and if you
DA>are clean, you get your permit, period. It is not discretionary on the
DA>part of local law enforcment. No training requirements, no testing
DA>requirements.
It's less of a requirement/check out than here in IL, and that's just for
our FOID card, _not_ a ccw. We are one of the few remaining states that
do not have a CCW. I pray this will change soon. Let freedom ring: in
no case has the issuance of CCW permits led to an increase in firearm
injuries or fatalities. It is opposed on the basis of fear, and fear
stems from ignorance.
